How The Sales Consultancy builds sales growth mindset cultures with Mindset Advantage

Leigh Ashton, Founder of The Sales Consultancy, shares how as an Accredited Practitioner of Mindset Advantage, she is able to develop sales growth mindset cultures and embed growth mindset in sales teams for lasting impact.

The more you put into using the diagnostic and the data it provides, the more you and your clients will get out of it.

Please could you introduce yourself?

I’m Leigh, Founder of The Sales Consultancy. I’ve spent over three decades in sales and my enthusiasm for this exciting sector keeps growing. I’m passionate about partnering with organisations to build Sales Growth Mindset cultures, empowering sales leaders, energising teams and driving real transformation that increase success in all areas.

Could you describe a little more about what The Sales Consultancy does?

Whether it’s an underperforming sales team, or wanting to take your team from good to great, we provide training solutions to help you create a culture that cultivates happy, motivated and high-performing people.

Whatever your training and development aspirations, you’ll need your sales team and leaders to be equipped with laser-focussed selling skills, and that other crucial element – a winning sales growth mindset.

What is Sales Growth Mindset?

Most sales people receive plenty of sales skills training, so they usually know exactly what they should be doing. Yet even when sales people know what to do, most of them still don’t do it.

And that’s down to what’s going on in their head: their sales mindset.

A sales growth mindset is the belief that sales skills, behaviours, and success can be developed through learning, effort and purposeful practice. This looks like embracing stepping out of their comfort zone to test new approaches, taking full responsibility for their results and having a recovery plan quickly in place when setbacks occur, and identifying and combatting the psychological barriers that stop them falling short of their potential.

How has Mindset Advantage helped you support your clients or your own team, and how is it embedded into your work?

The Mindset Advantage diagnostic has become a core part of our Growth Mindset in Sales programmes. Every delegate completes the diagnostic before we begin, which brings a whole new level of personal relevance and insight to the work we do together.

The insights help each person see themselves more clearly, which means they get more out of the programme and continue to see the benefits long after it ends. It’s not just an add-on; it’s an integral part of how I design and deliver for maximum impact.

Mindset Advantage is not just an add-on... It’s an integral part of how I design and deliver for maximum impact.

What do you value about being an MSC partner?

The support I’ve received as an MSC partner has been outstanding. The team is always responsive, approachable and genuinely invested in helping me get the most out of the partnership.

Whether it’s a quick question or a deeper conversation, they’re always happy to jump on a call and talk things through.

Why would you recommend the partnership to others, and what advice would you give to future partners?

I’d absolutely recommend becoming a partner to anyone delivering mindset-led programmes. The more I’ve used Mindset Advantage, the more value I’ve seen – both for my clients and for myself. The insights it gives me help me tailor every programme to fit each group perfectly.

My advice? Really lean into it.

The more you put into using the diagnostic and the data it provides, the more you and your clients will get out of it. It’s a powerful tool but it’s how you integrate it that makes the real difference.
