Matthew Syed Consulting (MSC) is a boutique psychology-based consulting company, specialising in leadership development focused on developing growth mindsets and diverse thinking. We work with leaders at all levels within organisations, across a range of industries, to develop growth mindsets, diverse thinking, and learning cultures.

Matthew Syed, co-founder of the company, is an author and journalist who works with The Times, the BBC, and Sky News. His books include Rebel Ideas, Black Box Thinking, and Bounce amongst others. His podcasts – Sideways and Talent Takes Practice – also expand on the concepts of growth mindset and diverse thinking.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Product Marketing Manager to join the team on a 12-month contract. The office is based in southwest London, and the role would include a mix of working remotely and in the office.

As the Product Marketing Manager, you’ll be responsible for increasing awareness and generating demand for our products and services offering. This is a senior commercial role that is results orientated, requiring the ability to define strategy and plan effectively but also be very hands on in terms of production and delivery. You’ll be responsible for for all aspects of our marketing operations, with particular focus on defining and implementing a comprehensive go-to-market product marketing plan that supports the growth of our business. Proficiency in Salesforce and digital marketing are highly desirable in order to leverage and optimise our existing platforms.

Person Requirements

We are looking for someone with the following background, knowledge, skills and competencies:

Educational Qualifications/ Experience and personal skills
  • Graduate level or equivalent experience.
  • Marketing qualification desirable but not essential.
  • 10+ years Product Marketing experience in a similar role, ideally in leadership development or professional services environment.
  • Digital marketing and campaign management experience, from social media to SEO.
  • Experience in the management consulting / professional services sector would be highly advantageous.
  • Proven ability to define, lead and implement highly effective marketing campaigns and plans.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce and Pardot would be highly advantageous.
  • Ability to crafting compelling product messaging and narrative.
  • Excellent writing and project management skills.
  • Able to set and manage budget, timescales and expectations.
  • Strong relationship building and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and proactive with demonstrated problem-solving skills.
  • Responsive and customer focused.
  • The ability to analyse relevant information and make informed decisions.
  • The ability to prioritize tasks and responsibilities across projects.
  • The ability to proactively manage dependencies and overcome obstacles.
  • Organised and methodical with good attention to detail.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct market and competitor research.
  • Develop product positioning and messaging.
  • Develop product pricing strategies and structure.
  • Analyse market trends and client behaviour.
  • Define and manage outbound marketing activities, including events and social media.
  • Define and implement targeted marketing campaigns, including new product launches.
  • Develop sales tools and collateral.
  • Represent the company at external client industry events.
  • Ownership for marketing operations in line with the MSC business plan.
